Dry needling the use of solid needles to reduce muscular tension or spasm.  The practice of dry needling has been a regular component of physical therapy treatment over the recent decade, and has been increasing in use as evidence and research are evolving. No medication or injection is administered, maintaining the scope of practice for PT’s in Texas.  This technique is helpful in chronic pain or acute injury situations, such as recurrent low back pain or sports injury.  Dry needing is appropriate for a number of musculoskeletal conditions, however should be avoided for a specified period of time following a surgical procedure. 

The PT staff at Rebound Sports and Physical Therapy are trained in Ultrasound Guided Dry Needling, or the use of real-time imaging to ensure accurate placement and most effective use of this treatment technique.
